For those who may have missed it, tape of the Schenectady-LaSalle game Tuesday night on one of the local stations showed Fran in the stands, presumably because of potential interest in Schenectady PG Derek Millinghaus.

He's the ONLY kid in the area that could possibly play for Siena.

Actually, Galal Cancer of CBA and Shadell Millinghouse of Schenectady could probably play for Siena too. But hoopjunkie is the one who told us Jimmer Fredette was not quick or athletic enough to play D1.

Ritter is great but I'm assuming that the only way Fran signs a senior is if he needs a point guard. So I skipped the senior class.

Fran was at CBA-Schenectday game last night with Mitch (or Mitch look alike). Hopefully scouting the kids from Schenectady.

Also, Fairfield does not have anys ships left and may ahve an issue if Nero comes back.

It sounds like Ritter is going to sign in the spring with either Drake or William and Mary, he also turned down an offer from Navy. But Cancer is the real attraction for CBA, I wonder if Fran saw anything he liked in him.

He's a really solid defender. He's quick and likes to drive to the hoop, dosen't shoot from outside much though. Defense is really his game.

From my understanding Fran and Coach Doemel from CBA have a friendship. Coach Doemel went to Norte Dame. I don't think Doemel wont endorsed any kids if he thinks Fran cant use him. Then again Im a CBA Grad and have the inside scoop.

Siena offered this kid in the last week or so:

Calvin Newell (2010, 6-1 PG/SG)
Calvin put on a show against Winchendon, in what was probably the top performance of the National Prep Showcase. He dropped 37 points, had 4 steals and handed out 5 assists while only turning the ball over once. He was even good from the free throw line where he hit 6 of his 7 attempts. Calvin scored taking the ball to the hoop, stopping and popping for a mid range jumper and also on a put back after grabbing an offensive rebound. Where he really did his damage though was from behind the 3 point line. Calvin hit 5 of his 9 attempts and these were not easy shots. He usually had a hand in his face or he shot from very deep. One of these makes he fired up from 5 or 6 feet beyond the arc to beat the shot clock.

At 1 point later in the second half Calvin just started to take over the entire game. He played physical D on Anthony Ireland who was trying to bring the ball up the court, but Calvin picked his pocket on more than 1 occasion which resulted in a couple of open layups and a two handed slam. This really frustrated Ireland and really just took him out of his game. Calvin pretty much put his team on his back and almost carried them to a victory but Evelyn Mack Academy just came up a bit short. In this 1 game performance Calvin looked like the best player at the showcase and that is saying something with the amazing amount of talent that was at this event.

Calvin Newell played at Strathaven, which is near Philly, last year. His team beat Denzel's team, Franklin Learning Center, in the state tournament.

This offer sounds like they really like the 2 freshman guards they bought in! lol At least they're admitting they missed, and are trying to correct the problem. Uh-on the die-hards are going to attack me for "not knowing what i'm talking about!" :)

Let's hope Fairfield offers him!!!! He's a D-2 kid all the way. the only reason you're hearing Fairfield is Carmen is on their staff.

Why are people surprised that Doemel is building this kid up? that's his job, it's Fran's to decide if he's lying.
